"My name is Thomas Veil, or at least it was. I'm a photographer, I had it all: a wife, Alyson, friends, a career. And in one moment, it was all taken away, all because of a single photograph. I have it; they want it; and they will do anything to get the negative. I'm keeping this diary as proof that these events are real. I know they are... They... have to be."

Introduction
The following is a series description written by me. It's more accurately a detailed synopsis of the first episode, which in my opinion sets up the tone of the series.
Thomas Veil finally got his big break. As a photojournalist, his work is premiered in a high society galleria. Not really one to be the center of attention, he convinces his wife (Alyson) to allow him to skip out early in return for buying her a fancy meal. Before leaving, his best friend (Larry) stops by and assures him that he's on his way to the top from here.
While out to dinner, Tom excuses himself to go the bathroom. Upon returning, he finds his wife gone. When he asks the owner of the restaurant where his wife has gone to, he's asked to leave. After calling a cab, he arrives home to find that not only does his wife not recognize him, but now she's married to another man.

Tom returns to his gallery to spend the night, to find one of his photographs titled 'Hidden Agenda' (a picture he took a year ago) has been removed from it's display. Not only that, but his self portriat has been replaced with that of Alyson's new husband. The next day he confronts Alyson for answers and is arrested.
Tom endures six days in a mental hospital, where he gives a list of his friends and family to corroborate his identity. But, after getting to know another patient (Eddie), Tom starts to question the validity of the hospital. In desperation, Tom takes his doctor hostage and escapes.
Tom reveals he has the original negatives to 'Hidden Agenda' and doesn't ever plan on giving them up. He then tries to find refuge with his best friend Larry, who is dead in his apartment. On his last leg of hope, Tom goes home to his estranged mother, who he's refused to speak to for years... only to find she's had a stroke.
Before Tom gives up running, his mother weakly utters his name, the first person since this all started to acknowledge in some way his existance. This gives Tom a new sense of purpose as he runs away for the last time. Alone in the world, Tom becomes 'The Nowhere Man', and uses his lack of identity to aid him, instead of hinder, in getting back his life.
